To start off the show, we look at our Tarot Card for the week and we look for moments that relate to this card in our daily lives.

For this week, we chose the Queen of Swords. The theme of this card is precision.

This Queen is self contained, intellectual and sharp witted. She is a smart woman who doesn’t take anyone’s shit. She is going to tell you exactly what you need and the exact way to do it. And her way is the right way, any other way is going to be less efficient, less precise, less accurate, and generally less good.

You can hear Erica’s and Maggie’s stories related to the Queen of Swords by listening to the episode.

5 Activities for Libra Season

1. Learn to listen to better understand

It’s important to remember that listening is different from hearing. When you hear someone it’s more about take, what can you get out of this interaction. But, when you listen, you are focused on the give, what can you give to the person to support them in whatever is going on in their life. When your friend, partner, co-worker, or someone else is sharing their joys and sorrows with you, spend more time wondering how you can give more and take less.  This is one of the easiest ways to strengthen your relationships.

2. Strengthen partnerships or build new ones

Libra energy is aligned with partnerships, whether those are romantic or platonic, so this Libra Season is a good time to work through your issues with your partners. It’s also good to look to form new partnership maybe through marriage, or creating a new business. You will be supported by the charming loveliness of Libra.

3. Resolve conflicts and find compromise

If you’ve been living unhappily under a certain arrangement, this is also a good time to negotiate a change of circumstance. It’s a time of finding balance and striking agreements that make everyone happy.

4. Surround yourself with beauty

Beauty is often defined by symmetry and balance, which means Libra is all about it. Invite in some Venus energy by making your space beautiful and inviting. How we feel on the inside is often influenced by our external surroundings, and vice versa. Surround yourself with art, music and creativity and you’ll soon be filled with sunshine.

5. Reconnect with who you are

Because Libra is so partner focused, it’s easy to get lost in someone else’s identity. Be sure to find ways to remain independent by not relying heavily on someone else to meet your needs and for your sense of wellbeing.

Libra is all about equality and equity and by extension social justice. For the Libra season each week Maggie and Erica will recommend a cause that you can help to support. You can support the charity we’ve selected, choose your own, or find something else to do in support if you cannot support financially (or nothing at all if you don’t feel called at this time, that’s okay too).

This week Maggie and Erica chose to support equal access to healthcare for all people with uteruses (uteri?) in light of the recent litigation in Texas. We found the non-profit program “The Lilith Fund,” which we found fitting as she is the Jewish Goddess of Feminism and Rebellion.

Their mission is:

We provide financial assistance and emotional support while building community spaces for people who need abortions in Texas—unapologetically, with compassion and conviction. Through organizing and movement-building, we foster a positive culture around abortion, strengthen people power, and fight for reproductive justice in and with our communities.

Their values are Compassion; Intersectionality; Anti-racism; Client-centered; Inclusivity; and Collaboration

Send us a voicemail

We play one listener voicemail on each episode of Talk Witchcraft, with a few exceptions. To send us a voicemail, record a voice memo on your phone and email it to welisten [at] talkwitchcraft [dot] com. Please keep in mind that we only choose voicemails that are two minutes in length or shorter (even if they’re great!).

What we’re looking for in a voicemail

  • Share from your personal experiences (especially experiences that we could never have) and use that to illuminate the zodiac season or theme in new ways.

  • Ask questions of Erica and Maggie, so we have an opportunity to respond meaningfully to your voicemail during the podcast.

  • Use one of these prompts: Is there something happening with you and your life that aligns with the current zodiac season or a Tarot card? How do your experiences show us something new about the magic, something that we haven’t talked about so far?

  • Send a voicemail even if you’re behind on the podcast. If your voicemail is about a previous episode, zodiac season, or tarot card; that doesn’t mean we won’t choose it!

Tips for recording a great voicemail

  • Make sure you’re somewhere quiet.

  • Plan what you’re going to say ahead of time, because two minutes goes quickly.

  • Opt for talking freely based on a bullet pointed list rather than reading word-for word from a script.

  • Let us know if you’d prefer to remain anonymous.

Wait, don’t go yet!
