In this segment of the show we choose a Tarot Card for the week and we look for moments that relate to this card in our daily lives. For this episode we chose the Knight of Pentacles. The theme of this card is devotion and making progress.

This Knight is the most hard-working, methodical and detailed-oriented Tarot card. He’s not really the most inspiring or creative Knight, but he will do the work to get the results he seeks, even if that work is highly repetitive or routine.

You can hear Erica’s and Maggie’s stories related to the Seven of Wands by listening to the episode.

5 activities for Virgo Season

1. Take inventory of all areas of your life.

The symbol for Virgo is a person holding a bundle of wheat and represents the people who’s job it was to sort the wheat from the chaff. Take this opportunity to remind yourself of your blessings and take stock of your resources such as Money, Emotional support and love, items that are valuable to you, Cars, Home/property, Food, Water, Health, etc. Look for things that are working or not and make changes where necessary.

2. Give your time and energy to serving others.

The best work for a spiritual person is to be of service to other humans. How can you ease the workload of a colleague in your workplace? Do you have a friend who needs some extra support? Offer to pick their kids up from school or invite them over for dinner. Take in your neighbors garbage can or help them in another way. You might even spend a day volunteering for an organization you care about.

3. Find a healthy routine to implement.

You’ve probably read countless articles about the benefits of establishing routines in the morning and evening. Virgo energy is can help you form new habits and implement alternative health routines. Introduce yoga or meditation to your morning, add a healthy smoothie to your breakfast, turn off screens and get to bed earlier each night, or some other activity or habit that suits your desired health plan.

4. Let go of perfectionism and being critical.

The Virgo energy is undeniably critical to the point of seeking perfection, but magic is all about going with the flow and going with the flow is the opposite of perfectionism. Perfectionism is swimming upstream or it is a boulder that blocks the flow of water. Perfectionism is when you are so focused on the need to be right, you miss the opportunity to be present.

It’s time to celebrate your uniqueness, the challenges you may face, the obstacles in your path and the imperfection of life. Imperfection is a tool that you can use.

5. Bring organization into you life.

Make sure your life is in order. In your mundane life: pay your bills, clean and tidy your home and file any paperwork that’s floating around. In your magic life, organize your magical tools and materials, rearrange your altar and update your grimoire. Organization sets you up for success in all areas of your life because you will always know where things are when you need them.

Send us a voicemail

We play one listener voicemail on each episode of Talk Witchcraft, with a few exceptions. To send us a voicemail, record a voice memo on your phone and email it to welisten [at] talkwitchcraft [dot] com. Please keep in mind that we only choose voicemails that are two minutes in length or shorter (even if they’re great!).

What we’re looking for in a voicemail

  • Share from your personal experiences (especially experiences that we could never have) and use that to illuminate the zodiac season or theme in new ways.

  • Ask questions of Erica and Maggie, so we have an opportunity to respond meaningfully to your voicemail during the podcast.

  • Use one of these prompts: Is there something happening with you and your life that aligns with the current zodiac season or a Tarot card? How do your experiences show us something new about the magic, something that we haven’t talked about so far?

  • Send a voicemail even if you’re behind on the podcast. If your voicemail is about a previous episode, zodiac season, or tarot card; that doesn’t mean we won’t choose it!

Tips for recording a great voicemail

  • Make sure you’re somewhere quiet.

  • Plan what you’re going to say ahead of time, because two minutes goes quickly.

  • Opt for talking freely based on a bullet pointed list rather than reading word-for word from a script.

  • Let us know if you’d prefer to remain anonymous.
