I wear crystal frequently, almost daily. I wear them to encourage certain traits to develop, I wear them because they match my outfit, and I wear them for their healing powers. I receive many comments and am often questioned about the crystal jewelry I wear. Many people are drawn to crystals, and it’s not just because of their aesthetic appeal, but I find that frequently people don’t know where to find crystals. Or, they have seen crystals for sale and are overwhelmed by the choices.
►►► Where should a beginner… begin?
I’ll start by saying, go with your instinct. If you are drawn to a specific stone, there is probably a reason. Do some research about your new crystal and discover what it is telling you. Beyond this intuitive decision making, I would say there are a few crystals to build your foundation on: Clear Quartz, Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Citrine, Howlite, Sodalite and Tigers Eye.
►►► Clear Quartz
Clear Quartz (The Stone of Power) is a unique crystal, because it is considered universal in its ability to help with a variety of issues. Because of this, it is ideal for beginners. It can also be used to cleanse and recharge other crystals.
Amethyst (The Stone of Spirituality and Transformation) fosters healing and selflessness. The color can vary from pale lilac to deep purple but all forms of amethyst are wonderful for spiritual awareness, meditation and balance and well as helping to bring inner peace and positive transformation. Amethyst is a primary healing stone that can be useful in most situations. If you want to get in touch with your intuition, your feelings, or you values, this stone can help. Amethyst helps one develop their psychic abilities and can be used as a crystal of protection because it repels more than it attracts.
►►► Rose Quartz
The pink color in this form of Quartz is thought to be caused by the inclusion of Iron and Titanium. Historically, Rose Quartz (The Love Stone) is a symbol of love and beauty.
